Bus, tram, metro and railways stop running at 9 pm

In view of the current health emergency, a new public transport plan in Rome will be
implemented to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Rome Capital has adopted the
running programme presented by Atac and Roma Tpl. From 14 March onwards, the last
transport service runs at 9 p.m. from the terminus of metro, bus and train
and a reduction in
summer transport services. The transport re-modulation takes into account the drop in
demand and it is in line with the Ministerial Decree.

Atac and Roma Tpl are expected to maintain adequate service levels on their operating lines
that allow connections to health and hospital facilities and with the production companies in
service.

Meanwhile, sanitation activities on the vehicles and at the stations that Atac have carried
out since February will continue. Please note that the front door of the buses cannot be used
for the ascent and descent of passengers.

Regarding the Atac Roma-Lido railways, the working hour is: From Piramide Station First Run and Last run time 5.30 am and 9.20 pm; from Colombo first and last run time 5.30 am and 9 pm.

From Colombo station: 5.15 am,5.40 am, 6 am, 6.30 am, 6.45 am,7 am, 7.15am, 7.30am. Then a train will run every 15 mins between 7:30 – 8.00 pm and then at 8.30 pm and 9.00 pm.

From Piramide station: 5.30am, 6 am, 6.15 am, 6.30 am, 6.45 am. Then a train will run every 15 mins between 6.45 am – 8.00 pm, then at 8.30 pm, 9.00pm and 9.20 pm.

On the Termini-Centocelle railway:

From Centocelle station: first run at 5 am, last run at 9 pm. From Termini station: first run at 5.30 am, last run at 9.30pm

On the Civitacastellana - Viterbo railway:

  • Urban weekly program: from Flaminio station, first run at 5.25 am, last run at 9.40pm; from Montebello station, first run at 5.55 am, last run at 8.20 pm
  • Urban festive program: from Flaminio station, first run at 5.50 am, last run at 9.40pm; from Montebello station, first run at 6.18 am, last run at 8.38 pm
  • Train services discontinued: 202, 203, 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 306, 700, 711, 903, 904, 907, 908, 909, 910, 913, 914 will not provide service.
  • Additional bus services suspended except for: 9680 - 9684 - 9681- 9685 - 9682- 9686 - 9683 - 9687
  • Out-of-town train services: on the urban route Flaminio-Montebello (and vice versa) all the stops are assured, if requested.

In accordance with the Ordinance of the Lazio Region, the minimum essential services are
prioritising integration between the various transport modes are guaranteed , and will favour
the service with least potential for contact between people. By choosing from the solutions
available we are able to ensure sufficient transport services, and ensure greater available
area between travellers (at least a metre between passengers). The aim is to ensure
maximum security for users and operators.

TPL companies will maintain adequate service levels on road transport lines that allow
connections to healthcare and hospital facilities and with the production companies still in
service.

In addition, for taxi and ncc (rental with driver service), the Rome Capital
administration has provided, (in accordance with the new general framework of mobility
outlined on the basis of what has been commended by the Lazio Region ordinance,) a 33
percent reduction in taxi service. These measures were shared with the Lazio region in
accordance with a precise and structured programme.
In the meantime, the sanitization activities which started last February will continue on all
vehicles and in the stations that Atac services.
Please note: the front door on vehicles cannot be used for boarding and disembarking
passengers.

PARKING AND BLUE PARKING
The interchange car parks along the metro lines remain active, with timetables compatible
with those of the trains: opening at 5.15 am, closing at 9.45 pm. Blue car parkings in the city
remain open for a fee.

TICKET OFFICES
Atac ticket offices will be partially closed.
The ticket offices at these stations will remain closed: Spagna, Ottaviano, Lepanto, Eur
Fermi and Eur Magliana will remain closed. The other ticket offices will follow reduced hours,
on weekdays from 7 am to 7 pm. All the ticket offices are closed on public holidays.

On 21-22 March, the ticket office in Termini is closed because of the service stop along the
Castro Pretorio – Laurentina’ s section of the B-line metro.

SERVICES ON LINE
All online ticketing systems remain active.

COTRAL ROUTES and TRENITALIA
For Cotral buses : last runs at 19pm. Details on cotralspa.it
Restructuring of the service, and summer timetable with reduced trips are assured.
Regional connections of Trenitalia are also assured.
However, the routes and time slots most used by those who need to travel for work, are
protected and still active.
The Leonardo Express service has been remodeled, guaranteeing one trip per hour.
Due to the cancellation of cruises, the Civitavecchia Express is suspended.
